Protecting the Collection During Restoration
Native American Heritage
This exhibit highlights the rich Native American history of western Oklahoma. Every artifact, photograph, and textile was carefully cataloged and removed so it can be safely preserved while restoration work begins on the Ed Gillespie Building.
Original Tin Ceiling
One of the building's hidden treasures is its original pressed tin ceiling. Installed more than a century ago, it remains a remarkable example of the craftsmanship found throughout the historic Ed Gillespie Building.
Stories in the Small Things
Some of the museum's most fascinating artifacts fit in the palm of your hand. This collection of antique pipes offers a glimpse into the everyday lives of the people who helped build the Geary community. Each piece has been carefully documented and packed for safekeeping during the restoration process.

Preparing for Preservation
As restoration of the Ed Gillespie Building begins, every artifact is being carefully photographed, cataloged, and moved into secure storage. This work protects the museum's collections while preserving the historic building that has housed them for generations.
